You do not need a company to rent professional equipment
11 August 2026

Professional equipment is traditionally rented by companies to companies. Often with a business-registration requirement, sometimes with references, almost always with a deposit of several thousand kronor and a visit to a warehouse.
That business model is the one Flexfoto exists to avoid.

This is the whole list of requirements
- You are 18 or over.
- You can identify yourself with Swedish BankID. BankID is how you sign the rental agreement.
- You have an address in Sweden the parcel can be sent to.
That is it. No company, no tax registration, no professional credentials, no portfolio, no deposit.
Why BankID instead of a deposit
A deposit solves the rental company’s problem by moving it to the customer: you are out of pocket for equipment you do not own. We solve the same problem with identity instead. You sign a real rental agreement with BankID, we know who you are, and you do not have to tie up money.
It also means the equipment can only be collected by you — the same person who signed. That protects you as much as it protects us.
And the credit check, which nobody likes being surprised by
In most cases we run a simple check through Creditsafe. It does not show up at UC and does not affect your ability to borrow. It is spelled out at checkout before you sign — not in the terms afterwards.
You get a message from us as soon as everything is approved. If we did have to decline, we refund the whole amount immediately, and we write down why.
What it costs to try
Cheaper than most people think. A Sony FE 50mm f/1.8 costs 155 SEK for a week. A Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 IS STM Macro costs 451 SEK. It is the cheapest way to find out whether a lens suits you before you buy it.
All-risk cover is included in every rental — across the Nordics: if something is damaged and the insurance covers the event, you pay at most 1,500 SEK, never more. Shipping is fixed prices, the same across the whole country, set below what PostNord invoices us — there and back.
Why distance costs nothing extra: we ship as happily to Kiruna as to central Stockholm.
If you do rent as a company
That works too, of course, and then the whole site shows prices excluding VAT — not just a line at the end. VAT is added on the total at checkout and is deductible. You can still pay by invoice, the company registration number is checked in the form, and EU companies with a valid VAT number get reverse charge automatically.
